Rainy Day Osaka

Where to go when it pours

Osaka is easy on a wet day because so much of it is roofed. Shinsaibashi-suji is a covered arcade about 600 m long, and Tenjinbashisuji, north of Osaka Tenmangu, runs about 2.6 km under cover. Kuromon Market is a covered market of about 150 shops. For something indoors to see, the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, the Osaka Science Museum and the Osaka Museum of History are the big three. Spa World in Shinsekai is a bath complex with a European zone on the 4th floor. Check closing days before you go. The Osaka Museum of History is closed the next day when Tuesday is a holiday, and the science museum has its own list of closed days. On this map 43 places are tagged for rain.
