A museum that covers nearly 1,400 years of Osaka's history with full-size reconstructed buildings, models and film. Remains of the Naniwa Palace are preserved in the basement, and the top floor looks out over Osaka Castle. It opened in 2001.

The permanent exhibition is ¥600 for adults, with special exhibitions priced separately. Closed Tuesdays (the next day if Tuesday is a holiday) and 28 December to 4 January. Entry ends 30 minutes before closing. It's about a minute from exit 9 of Tanimachi 4-chome Station.

Two evenings of outdoor Noh and Kyogen on a special stage in Nishinomaru Garden, with Bunzo Otsuki among the performers. Rain moves the show to Otsuki Noh Theatre for holders of rain-substitute tickets. Ticket prices aren't printed in the press release.

Osaka Castle Park covers 105.6 hectares of moats, stone walls and plum trees, and the keep at its centre was rebuilt in 1931 as a museum of the Toyotomi era.
